After using X-Assist for Mac for many years, I got used to the currently active app’s icon appearing in the Status menu bar at the top right of the screen and being able to switch apps from a menu. After finally upgrading from El Capitan to Mojave X-Assist now no longer works. So, after fiddling around with Xojo and the incredible Xojo MacOSLib and picking Vidal van Bergen’s brains I created a tiny app called ActiveApp Switcher which switches app from a drop down menu and shows the currently active App’s icon in the menu bar like so:
